NFL Denies Repeated Marijuana “Offender” Josh Gordon’s Reinstatement Petition
Cleveland Browns receiver Josh Gordon’s March 1st reinstatement petition was recently denied by the NFL. However he is allowed reapply this fall, a person with knowledge of the situation said according to this USA TODAY Sports article.
This person chose to remain anonymous because the National Football League had yet to make an announcement on the matter. Gordon hasn’t played in the league since the 2014 as he banished under the NFL’s substance-abuse policy.
Commissioner Roger Goodell reinstated Gordon on a conditional basis last year. Saying he’d be eligible to return after he served a four game suspension at the beginning of the season. However, Gordon, 26, checked himself into rehab a few days before the suspension was up.
